Week 52, 2024: F91-(FT)W

G'day folks.

My watches arrived this week, and it feels nostalgic to return to owning a Casio watch—or two, in my case. I picked up two vintage variants: the F91-W and A168. I also got a Timex analog that has a yellow dial, though it seems to be an homage to the Citizen Tsuyosa. Not too shabby.

Today, I visited a bookstore and stumbled upon a secondhand copy of The Earthsea Quartet by Ursula K. Le Guin—amazingly, a first edition print of the volume! It’s been on my reading list for ages, and finding it at such a dirt-cheap price felt like a steal. Absolutely worth it.

This week, I finished reading The Stand and the Genghis Khan [Mongol] history book. I am actually proud of myself for sticking to my goal. I loved The Stand, although I found the ending a bit rushed. I might definitely do a re-read again. It feels like that kind of a book, especially considering the pandemic that we collectively went through recently.

I picked up Howl's Moving Castle, by Diana Wynne Jones to end the year with a light and easy fantasy read, and I’m enjoying it so far. Speaking of fantasy, I’m also loving my playthrough of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Honestly, I’m wondering why I didn’t play it sooner.

This week's most-played song is Here and Now, by Letters to Cleo.

Until next time.
