Week 39, 2025: A slow week (and broken streaks)

G’day folks.

First things first: remember how I said in my last weeknote that I wish I had someone to bar/café crawl with? WEELLLLL, I ain’t doin’ that no mo’. This week my body said nope, and knocked me flat.

Not to be too dramatic, but I had an office outing on Monday evening, and I had to walk in the rain to catch a cab home late at night, after which I just crashed hard. I actually started feeling sick late in the evening on Tuesday, until I surely fell ill on Wednesday. Definitely exhaustion.

Somewhere in there I also bought an Apple Watch on Wednesday, mostly for a bit of extra fitness motivation. Let’s go, lazybones. I actually had a 3+ year continuous fitness streak (from Feb 2022), until I broke it in January this year.

Speaking of streaks — same with Duolingo. I think I had a 5+ year streak, until I missed doing a few days in a row this year. So now the app just sits there collecting dust. So long, my sweet progress in Swedish and Dutch.

(Man, this year seems to be the year of me breaking streaks huh. 🙃)

Nothing else of note really happened this week, so this note’s going to be short and sweet. Funny how sometimes slowing down isn’t a choice, but it does the job anyway. I mean, I like takin’ it nice and slow too. So there.

Until next time!
