Week 37, 2026: Concert(ina effect)
This week, I’ve been working on ideas and stuff (mostly just thoughts), but I haven’t made time to actually work on any of it. Nowadays, it’s so easy to make things using AI, but I don’t want to use AI. Especially when it comes to making art.
I’ve also been curating ideas on my Are.na here and there (I have a board specifically for generative art). I think that counts as progress. 🥲
This morning, I bought a ticket to the upcoming Foo Fighters concert, purely on an impulse (Jan 29; Bangalore). Earlier in the year, I also bought a ticket to see Gorillaz (Jan 23; again in Bangalore). I guess I might have to skip it this time. 🫠 It would be great if I could catch BOTH artists in the same week, though.
I missed mentioning this in one of my earlier weeknotes, but I am also going to see Fred Again this year (Dec 12, AGAIN in Bangalore). As one can imagine, I am very excited to see him live. Getting the ticket was a HASSLE because it had a queue system in the app (BookMyShow), and I got VERY lucky in the end. I remember I was in office on a July afternoon, constantly refreshing to see where I was in the queue and whether I could get a ticket. Fun.
Lollapalooza India released their line-up for next year, which didn’t look appealing to me. So I’ll be skipping Lolla next year. Not to mention, it is also happening in the same week as Gorillaz and Foo Fighters. In short, January, or at least the Republic Day week, is going to be jam-packed with concerts.
I started reading The Secret History by Donna Tartt this week. It’s been a very slow read so far (I’m definitely taking my time with it because I finished like 5 books over the last 6 weeks.) I’m only 30 pages in, from Monday. I’ve been making significant progress in Skyrim, however, and have been passing time exploring the frozen landscape and fighting dragons.
