Week 37, 2025: Outings for days

G'day folks.

This week was heavy on work outings — more than the usual. (The usual being zero.)

On Monday, I went with a group of my colleagues to a local brewery (Zero40), where we had some beers and chatted for close to 3 hours.

Next, on Wednesday, I was part of another outing, but this time with the larger team. However, we didn’t stick around long and bailed after an hour. Fun, but quick.

This week had long days both in terms of work and work outings. I think next week might be the same — seeing how I have another work outing, but with a different team tomorrow.

Between that and long workdays, I ended up crashing hard this weekend. Lots of mini naps. (Chalking it up to beauty sleep. Hehe.)

ANYWAY.

On the creative side, I dipped back into making simple generative artwork today — it felt therapeutic for sure. Below are some select outputs.

First up: a piece I call Arc & Grid. I used the Golden Ratio to create a grid and randomly filled the corners with arcs of varying stroke widths.

Kinda’ Bauhaus-y, if I do say so myself.

Second, I also worked a bit on generating landscapes, but constrained myself to using ONLY primitive geometric shapes. I broke my own constraints, though. :P

I didn’t get far with this one, as you’ll notice a few glitches above; still very much work in progress. I had trouble focusing — a lot of screen time lately.

The most-played song of this week is a tie between Avril 14th, by Aphex Twin, and Alive, by Pearl Jam (the live / MTV unplugged version). Both calming in their own way. A counter to the week’s chaos.

Until next time.
