Week 36, 2025: Golden years, lazy days
G'day folks.
My dad had his birthday this week! We kept it small and quiet at home, but it was lovely — just family, some cake, and laughter. It was really nice to spend the evening with him (and my family), slow down, and celebrate together.
Outside of home, I had a couple of work outings this week, which were a lot of fun and a good break from the usual routine!
And then the weekend rolled around… which I mostly spent indoors watching videos on YouTube again, since the roads in my area were blocked for the Ganesh immersion. I also watched Enter the Dragon with my dad today. Classic!
On the brighter side, I picked up my guitar! It’s been a while, but it still feels familiar. I wanted to make some time for art too, but I was exhausted. Procrastination for the win.
Oh, and remember my plans to hit the gym? That didn’t happen. No reason in particular. And the travel plans haven’t materialised either. They’re still drifting somewhere in the back of my head. One of these days, I’ll get around to it.
Slightly meta: my blog has gotten dreadfully slow of late whenever I try to publish a post or make an update. I spent most of this evening uninstalling and reinstalling EVERYTHING. It works OK and is more or less quick now, but I will need to set aside some time for upkeep as it scales. (Picture me sighing dramatically in this space.)
The most-played song of the week was Golden Years, by David Bowie. Seemed appropriate for a week that was more about slowing down than speeding up.
Not a bad pace, all things considered.
Until next time!
