Week 27, 2026: Peaks and valleys
Half the year has passed. 🫠 I feel like I’ve been through so much already.
Not much happened this week, except that I was busy at work. It was very hectic. The theme of it being cloudy outside continued, and at the risk of sounding overly theatrical, but alas, nary a drop of rain. (Come up with THAT, AI.)
On Tuesday, our team from work went to a local café, for a colleague’s farewell. It was fun.
This week, I watched a lot of mountain climbing videos — mostly first-person climbs / experiences by different people of different mountains in the Himalayas. A bit scary, yet fascinating at the same time. They reminded me of seeing Everest (and other mountains, from a distance) during my trip to Kathmandu in 2022. Ever since then, it has been fascinating to me. It almost felt like the mountain was calling to me. I don’t know how else to describe it. Kinda surreal. (But will I ever do the trek? I don’t know.)
So I rewatched Everest (2015), and 14 Peaks: Nothing is Impossible. The closest I'll probably get to climbing a mountain is watching other people do it from the comfort of my bed. Everest is a disaster movie, and it definitely hits you near the end. And the latter was VERY motivating. Good watches, both. I’d definitely like to do a smaller hike / trek, though.
