Week 22, 2025: Thirty two

G'day folks.

This week I turned 32.

I didn’t throw a party or make a big deal out of it — but I did get cake, so that counts. I also had dinner with my sister at Cream Centre, which mostly involved good food, catching up, and some more dessert from Conçu.

I spent most of my time with family — lots of food, smiles, and minimal emotional intensity. Just the way I like it.

Thirty two doesn’t feel particularly different. But it has a nice ring to it. It low-key feels like a quietly confident number; knows what it’s about, doesn’t need the spotlight. I will take that energy. Perhaps I'm imparting too much meaning to a number. Eh. Numbers.

In other news...

Work chugged along. A few open loops closed, a few new ones opened. The usual rhythm. I didn’t try to make the week special, but somehow it still felt nice. C’est la routine.

Today I caught up with a couple of ex-colleagues from NCR — the first time in almost seven months. It felt really good to reconnect. We went to a cosy place called Daily Rituals, and I had a spicy guava drink that was excellent. (I had it twice even!)

We talked about life, work, side projects. One of them is publishing a new book soon(!). Hearing about her process and excitement was very inspiring. It rubbed off on both of us; the kind of conversation that leaves you feeling a little more lit up than before. I definitely aim to make more time for side projects. Always be makin' stuff, ya know?

Our conversations always turn out that way — honest, uplifting, and just the right mix of silly and sincere. Very fortunate to know them both.

Oh, and in regards to my Car Hunt™, I was apparently too big for the i20 so I test drove the Kia Syros today, and I'm now dead set on buying it. It just feels perfect for me in every conceivable way.

Until next time. Inspire. ✨
