Week 2, 2026: Unplanned invites
This week involved me easing out of vacation mode and back into work-per-usual. There was no dramatic re-entry, just the familiar resumption of calendars, messages, and routines settling back into place.
It did feel good, in an understated way — getting back on track, seeing my colleagues again, and noticing how easily the pace returned after the lull.
Friday ended with an outing. I had ramen with office colleagues at Chubby Cho. It was unplanned; a last-minute invite. I realised I hadn’t been there in forever. The place was mostly empty. I ordered a very spicy bowl, which the wait staff strongly recommended. It WAS restorative, just not in the way they advertised HAHA.
The weekend was split nicely. I spent most of it with my sister as she had come visiting! I was SO happy to see her after so long. It was super fun!
Saturday evening was spent at another colleague’s house. This, too, was unplanned. It was unstructured and fun. A reminder (for me) that social energy doesn’t always need planning to work.
Today was mostly for rest. I hung out with my sister, played some Bloodborne (defeating Orphan of Kos for the third time), and spent a questionable amount of time watching random reels on Instagram — which I probably should be cutting down seeing how easily I might get hooked.
