Week 1, 2026: New year, same notes
(I’ve opened these notes with “G’day folks” for a long time now. Time for something a little looser this year. This means no openers and/or closers any more.)
This was an uneventful week. It was quiet.
I didn’t do much. I played my guitar, some Bloodborne, did some workouts here and there, went on a few drives, and took li’l naps in between. A welcome break indeed.
In terms of what I did get around to doing: I added a dark theme here on one of those days this week where I was super bored. It currently respects device theme settings, though I want to add a manual toggle somewhere. I also made some tiny updates to the footer content. I experimented with different fonts and layouts, but am a bit hesitant to push those changes as I don’t want to break something. Baby steps.
I also explored some ideas for a personal photo site. I’ve had that thought floating around for a while, and I got very close to buying a new domain. It would be a place for travel photos I’ve taken over the years. I’m no photographer, but I like the idea. Possibly an excuse to travel more this year. I’ll see.
Some other ideas cooking up in my head: buying a basketball, and a skateboard (uhh. . . blaming Instagram reels for this).
I watched two movies on Netflix today: The Negotiator and The Quick and the Dead. Both were pretty intense and I liked them.
I’m looking forward to what this year brings.
