[Draft] 1,000 steps: a log

(Might delete later. I opened the Voice Memos app on my phone and found these old logs I recorded. They made me laugh.)

I found a couple of voice memos from 2017. I used to record these logs pretty often though I can't quite remember why. I wish I could.

These were recorded during the 1,000 Steps trail in Dandenong — which is actually quite difficult for an inexperienced hiker. My body had absolutely no business attempting it at the time. Still, I made it to the end. I like to think I’d fare better now.

Log 4

Transcript:
Michael: The Sun?... is yellow?...
Me: No.
Michael: ...turning to Blue?
Me: The light is white. It just appears yellow because of the... the atmosphere.
Tiarne: Science.
Michael: [Laughs]
Michael: I don't get it.

Log 5

Transcript:
Me: Log five. I'm climbing up the uh 1,000 steps uh in Upper Ferntree Gully. And there's a lot of steps... I don't even know how the steps got here... And it's very tiring. I've had to stop four or five times... and... the others have gone on without me. It's 2:30 p.m. Signing out.

Transcript:
Me: Log seven. It's 2:43 p.m., and I'm walking further into the trail. They told me it's a 15 minute walk, and I'm literally gasping for air. So it's pretty... pretty bad. Signing out.
